Fishing
Fishing is fantastic! Smallmouth bass, walleye, northern pike and muskies are plentiful on the Winnipeg River System and its adjoining lakes. You do not have to travel far from our island to get your limits for the day but you will want to experience the big waters of the river system. We offer musky fishermen packages so they can experience their own “musky hunts” using their own boats and equipment and allowing them to hunt in the evenings when the muskies are waiting for them.
Birch Island Resort guides are knowledgeable, enthusiastic and experienced. They are ready to advise you on tackle and equipment selection and know where the “hot spots” are. They will take care of your daily catch and their “shore lunches” will be the highlight of your trip.
An on site tackle shop is complete with up-to-date tackle and to promote the preservation of the fishing we include conservation fishing licenses in your packages. Live bait is also included.
Fishing licenses, bait and tackle are available at Birch Island Resort. To promote the preservation of our fishing for future generations, we provide a conservation fishing license with all our packages, at no charge.
Boats & Motors
We are proud of our fleet of Lund fishing boats powered by Yamaha outboard motors. Our boats are comfortable, clean, safe, reliable and fully equipped.
