Birch Island Resort was the private summer home of a director of the Timothy Eaton Company during the early 1920s, the sumptuous era of many servants and elegant living for the wealthy. The complex has undergone extensive renovations, while retaining the décor and elegance of the 1920s and 1930s. Groups of 2 to 30 are welcome.

Birch Island Resort offers:


  • 14 private bedrooms, each with a private bathroom

  • 10 double rooms in the Main Lodge

  • 2 double and 2 tripple rooms in the Boat House.

  • All rooms are electrically heated with individual thermostats.

  • Full daily maid service is provided.

  • The Main Lodge features:


    • A cozy sitting room.

    • Our elegant dining room.

    • An oversized outside deck to relax on.

  • The Boat House features:


    • A large party and meeting room complete with wet bar and fireplace where you can relax, play cards or even try your hand at the piano. This room can easily be set up for productive meetings and seminars.

    • Indoor boat slips for 6 boats.

    • A fully equipped tackle and bait shop.

Birch Island is an ideal place to relax and forget the chores and turmoil of everyday life. We encourage you to slow down and enjoy the glorious wilderness around you, and to assist we provide canoes, a paddleboat and a sailboat. You may swim of the dock or just relax in the sun or read in the Island gazebos.
